EXPLANATIONS:
1. Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) are government securities denominated in grams of gold. They are substitutes for holding physical gold. Investors have to pay the issue price in cash and the bonds will be redeemed in cash on maturity. The Bond is issued by Reserve Bank on behalf of Government of India. Important points to note:
Minimum limit of investment – 2 grams/fiscal year
Maximum limit of investment – 500 grams/fiscal year
Rate of interest – 2.75%
Maturity Period – 8 years

12. Zika virus is a mosquito-borne virus transmitted by daytime-active Aedes mosquitoes. It is the is a member of the virus family Flaviviridae and the genus Flavivirus. It should be noted that even other vector-borne diseases like Dengue, Chikungunya and Yellow Fever are also transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. Its name comes from the Zika Forest of Uganda, where it was first identified in 1947.
